Romans 12:17-19 (NIV)
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

It was November 1, 2002 - the last day I spent my life with my church friends. That was during our barbecue party when three of them teased me about the contribution for the food. To make the story short, I got angry and walked out together with my girlfriend. I never thought it was the worst downfall of my life! I broke up with my girlfriend, left the church and band mates, committed relationship with a new girlfriend and many more.

Then time came, the Lord brought me back to the church. It was my birthday last June of 2003. He told me to set a small time party and invite all of my church friends - including those people who caused me to stumble. It was so hard at first ‘coz every time I remembered how they’ve hurt me, I always want to take revenge. God taught me how to show goodness to everyone and even to those people who harmed me much.

It was only when I obeyed that God healed me emotionally and spiritually. Then He let me serve and praise Him once again through music until this time. Though I left my job to give more time for God, His blessings are still enough for each day and even overflowing.

Remember: “Do not repay anyone evil for evil”. There is no harm in doing good. It’s easy to live at peace with everyone only if you will control your anger and trust God.
